Numerous premiere car models presented at the International Motor Show in Paris are equipped with Magneti Marelli components and systems. Among them are the Fiat Panda 4x4, Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, Peugeot 208 and 301, Volkswagen Golf VII and super cars like the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 4S.
From lighting to electronics, from the Powertrain components to exhaust systems and suspension systems, the Magneti Marelli technology is present in many automotive novelties presented at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
In particular, Magneti Marelli produces for the new Fiat Panda 4x4, but also for the new versions of Natural Power and Trekking, the front and rear lighting systems - the latter based on halogen technology and equipped with a daytime running light function - a set of indicators with an on-board computer, the Blue & Me system, engine control units and throttles for different engine versions.
Great expectations have been associated with the presentation of the new Golf VII model during this Paris event. Volkswagen utilizes the Magneti Marelli technology in the rear LED lights and Powertrain components as GDI injectors and throttle in its flagship vehicle.
Magneti Marelli lighting technology is also present in some luxury Audi models: Magneti Marelli Automotive Lighting provides LED and fluorescent tail lights to the new A3, to the Sportback version and S3 provides full LED headlights, Xenon AFS (Adaptive Frontlighting System) headlights, to R8 Spider and Coupé LED tail lights, for RS5 halogen and xenon headlights with the AFS function, mixed Diode - Fluorescent tail lights and a set of indicators.
Mercedes also uses the latest lighting technology in the new CLS Shooting Brake model presented at the Paris salon: the car is equipped with an intelligent full-LED headlamp with adaptive lighting, Bi-Xenon systems and LED rear lights.
The world premiere Peugeot models 208GT and 208XY , presented in Paris also feature an innovative infotainment "Touchscreen" system, developed by Magneti Marelli along with Peugeot and awarded the prestigious "Comfort Innovation of the Year" award. For the first time in a B-segment car a system equipped with a 7 - inch display, in a single interface contains functions that were previously separate, such as radio, music, navigation, on-board computer, interior lighting. In addition, Magneti Marelli equips the 208 model with the throttle and robotised AMT Freechoice gearbox, and the new Peugeot 301 with tail lights, and throttle.
Finally Porsche, presenting a new version of the 911 Carrera 4S Porsche at the Salon in Paris, in its German super-car uses Magneti Marelli technology in a characteristic instrument panel.
